Rules

You can fetch any of the "Snow-Covered" lands, since they all also have the supertype basic.

This ability has an "intervening 'if' clause." That means (1) the ability won't trigger at all unless any one of your opponents controls more lands than you, and (2) the ability will do nothing if you control at least as many lands as each of your opponents by the time it resolves.

You shuffle your library if you search, even if you don't put any basic land cards into your hand.

Rules

If a spell you cast has {X} in its mana cost, you choose the value of X before calculating the spell's total cost.

If there are additional costs to cast a spell, or if the cost to cast a spell is increased by an effect (such as the one created by Thalia, Guardian of Thraben's ability), apply those increases before applying cost reductions.

The ability can't reduce the amount of colored mana you pay for a spell. It reduces only the generic mana component of that cost.

The ability doesn't change the mana cost or mana value of any spell. It changes only the total cost you pay.

The cost reduction can apply to alternative costs such as flashback costs.

Rules

If an effect would set your life total to a specific number that's higher than your current life total, that effect causes you to gain life equal to the difference. The Wind Crystal will then double the amount of life that effect would cause you to gain. For example, if you have 3 life and an effect says that your life total "becomes 10," you would gain 7 life which The Wind Crystal doubles to 14, so your life total will actually become 17.

In a Two-Headed Giant game, life gained by your teammate won't cause The Wind Crystal's second ability to apply, even though it will cause your team's life total to increase.

In the rare case where you control two of The Wind Crystal, life you gain is multiplied by four. Three of The Wind Crystal means life you gain is multiplied by eight, and so on.

The cost reduction applies only to generic mana in the total cost of white spells you cast.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you're paying (such as a flashback cost), add any cost increases (such as kicker costs), then apply any cost reductions (such as that of The Wind Crystal's first ability). The mana value of the spell is determined by only its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast that spell was.

Multiple instances of any of the abilities Odric can grant your creatures are redundant.

Odric's ability triggers at the beginning of each combat, not just combat on your turn, whether or not any creatures you control have any of the listed abilities. If a creature gains one of the listed abilities before Odric's triggered ability resolves, perhaps due to another ability that triggered at the beginning of combat, then creatures you control will gain that ability.

The set of creatures affected by Odric's ability and how they are affected is determined as the ability resolves. Creatures you begin to control later in the turn won't gain any abilities or cause creatures to gain new abilities, and the abilities gained won't change even if every creature that normally had the abilities leaves the battlefield.

If one of those creatures has one or more variants of the listed keywords (for example, hexproof from white), creatures you control gain those specific variants.

Rules

Basri's Lieutenant can be the target of its own enters-the-battlefield triggered ability.

If Basri's Lieutenant dies at the same time as other creatures, its last ability will trigger for any of the creatures that had a +1/+1 counter on it, including itself.

If a creature with +1/+1 counters on it receives a greater or equal number of -1/-1 counters and this causes it to be destroyed by lethal damage or put into its owner's graveyard for having 0 or less toughness, the last ability triggers. This is because the ability checks the creature as it last existed on the battlefield, and it still had those counters on it at that point.

The second triggered ability of Basri's Lieutenant triggers just once if the dying creature has +1/+1 counters on it, no matter how many of those counters it has.

Hybrid mana symbols, monocolored hybrid mana symbols, and Phyrexian mana symbols do count toward your devotion to their color(s).

If an activated ability or triggered ability has an effect that depends on your devotion to a color, you count the number of mana symbols of that color among the mana costs of permanents you control as the ability resolves. The permanent with that ability will be counted if it's still on the battlefield at that time.

Mana symbols in the text boxes of permanents you control don't count toward your devotion to any color.

Numeric mana symbols ({0}, {1}, and so on) in mana costs of permanents you control don't count toward your devotion to any color.

The second ability is a mana ability. It doesn't use the stack and can't be responded to.

Rules

If a creature enters the battlefield under your control and gains haste, but then loses it before attacking, it won't be able to attack that turn. This means that you can't use one Lightning Greaves to allow two new creatures to attack in the same turn.

You can't simply unequip Equipment from a creature. If Lightning Greaves is attached to the only creature you control, you won't be able to attach other equipment to it (or target it with anything else) until you have another creature to which you can attach Lightning Greaves.

Abilities/Keywords

Rules

A creature with more than one instances of one of the listed keywords gets just +1/+1 for that keyword. Similarly, if a creature has multiple variants of the same keyword (e.g. protection from black and from red), it gets just +1/+1 for that keyword.

A creature with more than one of the listed keyword gets +1/+1 for each of those keywords it has.

Akroma's ability refers only to creatures with partner or "partner with" abilities, not creatures with any other partner variant (such as choose a Background or friends forever).

An effect that checks whether you control your commander is satisfied if you control one or both of your two commanders.

Both commanders start in the command zone, and the remaining 98 cards (or 58 cards in a Commander Draft game) of your deck are shuffled to become your library.

If something refers to your commander while you have two commanders, it refers to one of them of your choice. If you are instructed to perform an action on your commander (e.g. put it from the command zone into your hand due to Command Beacon), you choose one of your commanders at the time the effect happens.

If your Commander deck has two commanders, you can only include cards whose own color identities are also found in your commanders' combined color identities. If Falthis and Kediss are your commanders, your deck may contain cards with black and/or red in their color identity, but not cards with green, white, or blue.

Once the game begins, your two commanders are tracked separately. If you cast one, you won't have to pay an additional {2} the first time you cast the other. A player loses the game after having been dealt 21 damage from any one of them, not from both of them combined.

To have two commanders, both must have the partner ability as the game begins. Losing the ability during the game doesn't cause either to cease to be your commander.

Which creatures are affected and the size of their individual bonuses is determined only as Akroma's triggered ability resolves. Gaining or losing keywords after that time won't cause a creature to grow or shrink.

You can choose two commanders with partner that are the same color or colors. In Commander Draft, you can even choose two of the same commander with partner if you drafted them. If you do this, make sure you keep the number of times you've cast each from the command zone clear for "commander tax" purposes.

Abilities/Keywords

Rules

A creature you control is enchanted or equipped if there's an Aura or an Equipment attached to it. You don't have to control that Aura or Equipment.

A modal double-faced card can't be transformed or be put onto the battlefield transformed. Ignore any instruction to transform a modal double-faced card or to put one onto the battlefield transformed.

If Sword of the Realms is attached to a token creature that dies, the Sword's triggered ability will trigger, but the token will cease to exist after going to the graveyard. It won't be returned to its owner's hand.

If an effect allows you to play a land or cast a spell from among a group of cards, you may play or cast a modal double-faced card with any face that fits the criteria of that effect.

If an effect allows you to play a specific modal double-faced card, you may cast it as a spell or play it as a land, as determined by which face you choose to play. If an effect allows you to cast (rather than "play") a specific modal double-faced card, you can't play it as a land.

If an effect instructs a player to choose a card name, the name of either face may be chosen. If that effect or a linked ability refers to a spell with the chosen name being cast and/or a land with the chosen name being played, it considers only the chosen name, not the other face's name.

If an effect puts a double-faced card onto the battlefield, it enters with its front face up. If that front face can't be put onto the battlefield, it doesn't enter the battlefield.

If either target of the triggered ability is an illegal target as the ability resolves, the ability won't do anything. If both targets are illegal, the ability won't resolve. If the Aura or Equipment is already attached to the target creature, nothing happens.

If the creature equipped by Sword of the Realms dies but leaves the graveyard before the triggered ability resolves, it won't be returned to its owner's hand. It will just stay wherever it went.

In the Commander variant, a double-faced card's color identity is determined by the mana costs and mana symbols in the rules text of both faces combined. If either face has a color indicator or basic land type, those are also considered.

Similarly, you don't have to control the Aura or Equipment that you choose as a target of Halvar's triggered ability, but it must be attached to a creature you control.

The mana value of a modal double-faced card is based on the characteristics of the face that's being considered. On the stack and battlefield, consider whichever face is up. In all other zones, consider only the front face. This is different than how the mana value of a transforming double-faced card is determined.

There is a single triangle icon in the top left corner of the front face. There is a double triangle icon in the top left corner of the back face.

To determine whether it is legal to play a modal double-faced card, consider only the characteristics of the face you're playing and ignore the other face's characteristics.
